JOIN OUR GUARDIAN HOME PROGRM
We are currently seeking families to become guardian homes for puppies that will be part of our breeding program. Guardian home families receive a top-quality puppy at NO UP-FRONT COST TO YOU! Our puppies will become part of their guardian’s forever family. While the puppy resides with with the guardian, we will retain breeding rights, with the intention for them to be part of our breeding program once old enough, and health testing has been completed.
How it works...
REQUIREMENTS
- Live within Live within 3 hours of Syracuse, Indiana, and be willing to drive to meet up if you live over 30 minutes away
- Be responsible for regular pet vet visits, grooming, and feeding costs
- Have a fenced-in yard
- Maintain well groomed and trained dog
- Stay in contact and provide regular updates and photos
- MUST NOT HAVE ANY INCACT DOGS OF THE OPPOSITE SEX IN YOUR HOME
GIRLS:
Will not be bred until their second heat cycle.Β It will be important to:
- Take precautions to prevent unintentional breeding with ANY dogs during any of her heat cycles
- Notify us immediately when she goes into heat
After being bred she will remain with you throughout most of her pregnancy. Around the last week of her pregnancy, we will have her come to our house to prepare for whelping and get comfortable. She will remain with us until around the time the puppies go home.Β
BOYS:
We will notify you as soon as one of our females goes into heat to give you a heads up on an estimated date that we will need to breed him. Sometimes this is very last second and results in little to no warning. Once our female is ready for breeding, we will make an arrangement depending on your individual dog and what they would be most comfortable with. This may involve a collection that will take place at a vet’s office.
The Doodle Cove is responsible for all costs relating to breeding, such as health testing, reproductive testing, whelping, etc.
Dogs that are used in our program, once retired, will be spayed/neutered at our expense, full ownership rights will be signed over, and they will remain with you as your forever pet!

Our guardian dogs may vary in age when they go home; however, they will typically go home as puppies.
